Recalibrating your Align AP800 Digital Pitch Guage
The Align AP800 may start giving strange numbers. This usually happens when the case is closed on the AP800 so that the lid pushes the Power and Zero buttons. This puts the AP800 in calibration mode and then the AP800 gets all messed up.
This is easy to fix. You will need another pitch guage, a protractor, or any other pitch angle indicator.
- Press the Zero and Power button together on the AP800 until it goes into calibration mode.
- The screen will show 00.0.
- Using you other pitch angle indicator as a reference, put the AP800 at 0.00 degrees and press the zero button.
- The screen will show 09.0 degrees.
- Elevate the AP800 to 9 degrees (in a clockwise rotation) and press the Zero button.
- Repeat this for 15.0, 20.0, 25.0, 30.0, and 35.0 degrees.
- The AP800 will then show -09.0 degrees.
- Repeat the previous procedure rotating counterclockwise this time.
- When the procedure is complete the AP800 will power off.
