Remove the Dead Zone from Thrustmaster® Pedals

Introduction:

I like my Thrustmaster® T150 wheel except for the extermely large dead zone on the pedals. I tried a couple of methods found on the internet to fix this, but eventually came up with a much simpler method. Instead of opening up the pedals, which is required by the other methods, this method does not require you to open the pedals and therefore does not void the warranty. This method may work for other pedals as well.

Modofication:

I had previously purchased some sticky backed 4mm hard rubber pads, meant for kitchen cipboard doors, that were too hard for that purpose. They were perfect for this modification.
Hard stops
Depress the brake pedal, clean the pedal, and stick three of the pads in the spot where the pedal would come to rest againt the chassis of the pedals when it was not depressed.
Brake pads
Depress the accelerator pedal, clean the pedal, and stick two of the pads in the spot where the pedal would come to rest againt the chassis of the pedals when it was not depressed.
Accelerator pads
Now, when you go into the Thrustmaster® control panel. The dead zone should be almost completly gone. If a pedal is shown patrially depressed all the time, the pads you chose were too thick. Sand or cut them thinner until the pedal is not depressed.

After I completed this modification, I thought it might have been a good idea to square up one edge of the pad, so I could place more of the pad closer to the elbow in the pedal. Then then contact point on the pads at resting point of the pedal would contact the center of the pad. I will do that when the pads need replacing.
